A Message from the Secretary-Treasurer

Georgia ITE Members and Friends,

It's another Monday full of some great Georgia ITE information! We have two main reminders for today.

First, the Georgia ITE Board of Directors nominations for 2021 close this WEDNESDAY, October 14, 2020. Please read below for all the information and fill out THIS SURVEY with your nomination. Remember, if you are interested you can also nominate yourself!

Second, nominations have now opened for the 2020 Georgia ITE AwardsPlease check out our official announcements page and read below for all the details.Fill out THIS SURVEY to make your nominations by the deadline of Friday, November 6, 2020. We've also loaded all past award winners to our website (https://gaite.org/Awards).

Are you a Young Member? Are you interested in having a spotlight presentation for the November monthly meeting? For the November monthly webinar, we have five available slots for a young member of the Georgia Section to present on some of the interesting work they have done since leaving school and joining the workforce. If you have a young member you want to nominate (or want to nominate yourself), please complete THIS SURVEY.

Nominations and Elections

2021 GEORGIA ITE Bord of Directors Nominations

Nominations for 2021 Georgia ITE Board of Directors are Now Open! Georgia ITE is a volunteer organization that is led by a Board of Directors. Each year the Board has open nominations for anywhere between 3-5 offices. This year is a little different in that we have also undergone a Board reconfiguration due to the OneITE initiative. Please use THIS LINK to submit your nominations for the open offices for 2021 which include: President, Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer, Section Representative to Southern District, and At-Large Board Member. Please note that you must be a ITE member to nominate someone for office and the person who is being nominated must be an ITE member to serve in office.

If you have any questions about the nomination process, requirements, or Board roles, please contact Nominations Committee Chair, Jody Peace ([email protected]). Nominations are due October 14, 2020.

2020 GEORGIA ITE AWARDS SEASON IS HERE!!!

Nominations have now opened for the 2020 Georgia ITE Awards. Now is the time to recognize that co-worker, colleague, teacher, mentor or agency who has had a major impact on the transportation industry. The Georgia Section has several awards including:

  • John D. Edwards Jr. Individual Achievement Award
  • Marsha Anderson Young Member of the Year Award
  • Karl Bevins Distinguished Service Award
  • Georgia Section Agency Achievement Award
  • Transportation Professional of the Year
  • Georgia Section Award for Innovation in Transportation
  • Georgia Section Idea Sharing Award

 

Additionally, we have provided an opportunity to nominate others which have had a significant impact on our industry which might not fit into one of the categories above.

Technical Exchange

The 2020 Joint Georgia and South Carolina ITE Technical Exchange is back and scheduled for Friday, October 23 from 12:00pm to 1:30pm EDT. This year's format is a bit different as it will be held virtually. This will be a more limited Technical Exchange then previous years and will include a social event on the 22nd and the exhcange on the 23rd over lunch. Additional details will be posted soon about the speakers, topics and the corresponding social event. Please CLICK HERE for more information and to register.

Registration will be required to receive PDH credits.

Call for volunteers!!

Are you interested in supporting Winter Workshop in 2021? Our Winter Workshop Chairs are looking for volunteers for technical, registration, and general committees.
