Awards
The Georgia Section distributes several awards each year to recognize the people and projects that have had a significant impact on both GAITE and the transportation industry in Georgia. Nominations for these awards is open in the links below and are awarded in December a the Georgia Section Annual Meeting.
Georgia Section Agency Achievement Award
To be presented to an agency which has distinguished itself through improvements in the field of transportation.

The intent of this award is to recognize governmental or quasi-governmental agencies which have made significant transportation improvements in their area of jurisdiction. The achievement is to have been accomplished during the previous twelve (12) months.

The John D. Edwards, Jr. Individual Achievement Award
To be presented to a Georgia Section Member who has unselfishly given his/her time and talents to the advancement of the Georgia Section during the previous twelve (12) months.

The intent of this award is to recognize those Members/Affiliates of the Section who have given of themselves toward achieving the goals of the Section. The recipient should have been active in the Section for a minimum of two years and served the Section in an outstanding manner. In 1999, this award was named in honor of John D. Edwards, Jr., first President of the Georgia Section and ITE International President in 1985.

Transportation Professional of the Year
To be presented to the transportation professional who has contributed substantially to the safe and efficient movement of people or goods in Georgia.

The Karl Bevins Distinguished Service Award
Recipients of this award shall have demonstrated the qualities of competence, professionalism and dedication exemplified by Karl Bevins as the first Traffic Operations Engineer in Georgia.

Georgia Section Award for Innovation in Transportation
Established in 2011 and presented to new or upgraded transportation facility or program completed within the past two years that fulfills an essential transportation function, provides a sense of place and incorporates good planning, good design and/or good operations.

Marsha Anderson Young Member of the Year Award
Established in 2015 and in honor of Marsha's dedication to the growth and mentoring of young professionals, this award is to be presented to a young member of the Georgia ITE section, who over their young proessional careers, have contributed significantly to Georgia ITE and the transportation profession. Must be an active member of ITE and under the age of 35.
